3.3 Ratings. The extinguishers shall be rated to the compatibilities listed in Table I, as a minimum, in accordance with UL 711 Standard for Fire Extinguisher, Ratings and Fire Testing of. The extinguisher shall be plainly marked with it’s actual rating in accordance with UL 299.

3.4 Mounting brackets. Each extinguisher shall be supplied wih a mounting bracket suitable for mounting the extinguisher to vertical surface. When specified, the extinguisher shall be supplied with a vehicle mounting bracket suitable for use in vehicle. Vehicle brackets for the type I and II extinguishers shall be US Coast Guard approved for use with the accompanying extinguisher.
3.5 Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). Each shipment of fire extinguishers shall be shipped with MSDS in accordance with ASTM E 1628.
3.6 Workmanship. The fire extinguishers shall be produced with quality workmanship, cleanly painted, and shall show no evidence of corrosion, or other defect that affects appearance or may affect serviceability or durability. The labels shall be legible and securely attached.
3.7 Metric products. Products manufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, providing they fall within tolerances specified and all other requirements of this documents are met.
3.8 Commercial item. The use of term “commercial item” in this document does not imply that any item or items offered are not required to conform with all requirements specified herein.
4. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS.
4.1 Regulatory requirements. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
5. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS
5.1 Product conformance. The products provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this commercial item description, conform to the producer’s own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial market. The government reserves the righ to require proof of such conformance.
6. PACKAGING, PACKING, AND MARKING
6.1 Packaging, packing, and marking. The packaging, packing, and marking shall be as specified in the contract or order.
