Salient characteristics.
All threads shall be of the NH series, unless otherwise specified.
All inlet connections shall be provided with female
couplings which shall swivel freely and shall be provided with rocker lugs
unless otherwise specified. Outlet connections for Classes A, B, C, and G shall
be provided with male couplings. Class D, E, and F shall be provided with
either female, long handles or storz quick connect couplings, as specified.

the fully open position (Classes F and G only).
Each inlet branch shall be provided with quarter-turn full-flow ball valves
(Classes F and G only).
Conformance testing.
Dry Torque Test. The siamese hall be dry and without hydrostatic
pressure. A torque wrench shall be installed in place of the valve handle, and
the valve turned to its open and closed positions. The peak torque shall not
exceed 150 pound-inches.(Classes F and G only).
Hydrostatic Pressure Torque Test The siamese shall
be connected to a hydrostatic pressure source and 400 psig shall be applied.
The valve discharge ends shall be open. The torque wrench shall be turned to
the valve open and closed positions. The peak torque shall not exceed 200
pound-inches.(Classes F and G only).
Working pressure test. After the hydrostatic pressure torque test the pressure shall be increased to 600 psig. (Classes F and G only). For classes A, B, C, D, and E, the siamese, with the discharge ends closed, will be connected to a hydrostatic pressure source and 600 psig will be applied. No leakage is permissable.
Proof pressure test. After the working pressure test the pressure shall be increased to 1000 psig and the valve examined for any distortion, mechanical damage, failure, or leaks.
Regulatory requirements. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials in accordance with Public Law 94-580, to the maximum extent practicable.
